A. Please call 617-515-3405 to arrange a pickup in Boston at one of our designated hotel pickup points.

Q. Exactly what time will the New England Trips shuttle pick me up in the morning?
A. Boston hotel pickups will be made between 6:00 and 6:45 am for Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, so you should be ready in your hotel lobby at 6:00 am. (unless otherwise communicated) . Pickup time will be between 7:00 and 7:45 for Newport and Plymouth. PLEASE BE SURE TO CALL US AT 617-515-3405 SO THAT WE CAN ADVISE YOU OF YOUR 15 MINUTE PICKUP WINDOW.

Q. How long is the shuttle from my Boston hotel to the Island Queen ferry or Steamship Authority?
A. The trip is approximately 70-75 miles and should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes (excluding unexpected traffic delays).

Q. How long is the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard?
A. The ferry ride is a delightful 35 minutes with the Island Queen and about 45 minutes with the SSA.

Q. Does my Martha’s Vineyard day trip purchase include my ferry ticket?
A. Yes, your day trip purchase includes all of your transportation costs from Boston to Martha’s Vineyard.
(It excludes any costs that you may incur while on the Island.)

Q. Do I need a reservation?
A. Yes, you will need a reservation to guarantee a spot since seating is limited.

Q. Can I use my credit card to purchase food or a beverage while on board the Island Queen?
A. Yes, both the Island Queen and Steamship Authority accept credit cards.

Q. Do you run in all weather conditions?
A. As long as the Island Queen or SSA is running that day, the day trip is on.

Q. If I miss the ferry back to Falmouth, will the New England Trips shuttle wait for me to take the next ferry back?
A. Sorry, but unfortunately the New England Trips shuttle assumes no responsibility for you (financially or otherwise) if you miss the ferry. We are responsible for getting the customers that took the correct ferry back to Boston in a timely manner.

Q. Do you use The Island Queen for all your Martha’s Vineyard day trips?
A. No, the Island Queen is a seasonal ferry that operates from Memorial Day Weekend thru Columbus Day Weekend. Thus, for trips that do not fall between those dates we use The Steamship Authority Ferry.

Q. Which Island town does the ferry go into?
A. The Island Queen ferry always goes into the town of Oak Bluffs. The Steamship Authority Ferry could go into 1 of 2 towns depending upon the date of your trip. The towns are Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven.
